Unclear amber body, very little head; Small nose, malty, a little bitter, strangely dusty; Some carbonation, bitter, harsh, a very little acidy; Long bitter finish with a very strange metallic aroma, dusty, rotten fruit, not very pleasant. Over the top?

A hazy orange-red beer with a thin orange head. The aroma has strong notes of over ripe fruit as well as light notes of metal. The flavor is sweet metallic, but also with notes of over ripe fruit. The end is dry metallic. Not as good as I’d hoped.

Tap@Ealing Beer On Broadway. Red/deepish amber in colour. Slightly sticky typically bockish qualities to start, slightly caramelly bready. Balanced out well by some grassy hops in the finish. A very nice bock and an unusual find, particularly for a London Festival.

Draught at Ealing Beer on Broadway Festival, 2006. Ruby coloured. Caramel and boiled sugar aroma. Sugary, malty and caramel. Softy flavoured and decent bodied.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2005 On draft at PINT bokbierfestival 2005, Amsterdam. Clear red-brown coloured, small dying head. Caramel and malts, quite bitter towards the end. Not a very complex beer. Just a simple, easy to drink bock.

What a surprise, Christoffel comes with a bock! I expected quite a lot from it, hoping it would be wellbodied and quite bitter in the finish. But actually it wasn’t. All in all not bad, dark reddish brown, fine head. Aroma of caramel. Sweet, malty taste, finish is too soft. Average, as mentioned, I expected better.
