1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 maxwelldeux (2226) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - FEB 1, 2013Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with almost no head. Nose is extremely malty, with almost a mix of toasting and cough drops. Taste is actually just a tad sweet, and similar to the nose. Odd brew.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chrisv10 (7860) - DENMARK - APR 24, 2013
Bottle, 7.8%. Dark amber/brown with medium tan head. Aroma is malt, caramel, dark fruits, yeast and a little toasted. Flavour is malt, caramel, dark fruits, yeast, medium sweet, hop, little bitter, little ash and a little over carbonated.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Douberd (633) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 7, 2013
330 ml swing top bottle, at home. Poured into a snifter glass. ABV 7.8%
Very dark mahogany colour on the body, almost totally brown.HAzy as well. On top, about two fingers of offwhite head, with average retention.
Aroma of roasted malts at first, with a chocolate smell following, along with alcohol. There is also a light wort smell, but in no way offensive or vile.
The taste is overwhelmed with roasted malts, both upfront and on the aftertaste. There is also a light acidity and some caramel notes. At the end turns bitter again. Very nice.
Medium to full body, light to medium carbonation. Very dry on the palate.
Another nice beer from Christoffel, surely to be recommended.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 AirForceHops (1852) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 13, 2013
11.2 oz. swing top bottle purchased @ the Bier Cellar, Portland ME. Deep mahogany color with flat carbonation. Nose is raisins, dates and caramel malt. Lots of sugary, syrupy malts. Over ripe fruits in the finish. Light traces of chocolate. Decent in the style and based on this brew I would try others from Christoffel.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 LomYst (246) - Rotterdam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 20, 2012
caramel, dark roasted malts and not that sweet! it’s a nice bock but the body is lacking strength... also the finish is lacking depth and the aroma is lacking intensity... but comparing this to other 2012 bocks, this one fits into the good category!

Very deep dark red colour. Good lacing foam, pleasant aroma of malts. Robust body. Taste of roast malts, not too bitter and not too sweet. Pleasant smooth texture, fruity aftertaste.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - NOV 12, 2012
Draught at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam Beautiful dark mahogany color, with creamy head. Aroma of candi sugar, some sweetness and fruits, light sweat. Good body strength and round mouthfeel; good caramel flavor, clean, a bit nutty, with only light residual sweetness; correct bitterness. Good stylish beer, solid, dynamic, I dig it.
