2L jug from the LCBO that I got for Christmas. Pours a beautiful hazy mahogany into my new Hacker Pschorr 1L mug, with a huge tan head. Aroma is great, dopplebocky maltyness to the max, molasses, dark black bready, caramalt, earthy, grainy malts, with some yeast and of course the hoppiness characteristic of this brewery. The flavour matches the aroma perfectly, very rich deep malt structure with waves of different flavours, making it fairly complex. Like a loaf of pumpernickel or rye bread, something that really makes me love this beer style. Earthy finish with yeast. Not as much hops as I was expecting, but they are still in there. Naturally, the malts are the real stars of this show, it being a dopplebock and all. I really love this style and what a perfect beer for Christmas day!

bottle @ volo AP hazy muddy brown, minimal tan head AR best bock aroma ive ever had, dark fruit, anise, leather, quite complex, could have smelled it all day FL similar but not as impressive as the aroma, the yeast gets in the way PA easy to drink, perfectly carbonated and decently complex, borderline 5 OV really great bock from one of my fav breweries

Christ on a bike! What a beer. Matured for a year and in at 7.8%. Huge malt aroma, smells like a bag of malt. Vinious body, deep and dangerous. However, great balance with plenty of spicy hops. A really serious beer, which needs sipping.

Very rich beer, with a nice dark roasted malt taste. Beautifull palate but with a small aroma. Currently my favorite dark bock, tasted it several times and the beer recieves an dark cocoa taste during a year of ageing.

Brown pour with a off white body. Light carbonation but still a nice aromatic sweet aroma, with toast, nuts, caramel and raisin. Yes, very malty and sweet but full of flavour as well. Nice to sip and can compete with the German beers of this style. Very smooth. (33cl botle)

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2011 (swing top Bottle)Excellent stuff. A drinkable robust bock , if that makes any god damn sense . Nose is nice earthy soy sauce , rich malt caramel accents . So easy to drink ,its a very warming and easy on the palate ,despite this treacly boozy nature. Large sliches of sticky malt.raw booze.toffee .honey . earthy hops ..late dry finish. Good shit.

2 liter swing top growler (I bought 3)
Decants an unfliltered dark brown with a decent sand colored persistent cap that lasts and laces.
Thick malty molasses cookie dough aromas over light floral hopping. Ambrosia for the bock fancier!
Rich full bodied character, Thick dark toffee bundt cake doughy tastes up front are stopped from being cloying by a herbal rush of tettnanger and hersbruker hops, mid palate some rich minimal complexity then a thick lingering satisfying finish.
Great winter bock and my second favorite offering from this great artisinal lager brewer.

Creme denso e medianamente persistente. Coloração vermelho-escura linda. No aroma, chocolate, madeira e café.

A hazy dark brown ale with a rich onctuous moka head. A pleasant estery fruity aroma, light solvents, and plums and banana. In mouth, a rich and smooth bock with licorice, candy sugar, hops. Very nice. 2 L growler from LCBO, shared at Dumdum x-mas party.
