Nice bock, not too sweet! Had a draft one in café Rootz in Den Haag. Can't remember the full taste since i had a lot of beers that night ;)

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2014 Bottle 33cl. Deep brown, almost black with a good creamy beige head. Aroma is not very special. Some malts are recognizable. Taste is balanced with a subtle bitterness at first which turns more sharp in the aftertaste.

This is a really interesting bokbier. It has a good amount of spice but it's also fairly sweet. Some call it balanced but I would disagree with that.

Drank with Masum @ Kandinsky 13-11-2014. Okay beer, not great. Quite intense taste, but unbalanced. Very sweet and also alcohol hints. Spiky beer.

Pitch black beer with beautiful ruby highlights. Clear with a nice head. Smell is subtle caramel chocolate with a nice earthy leather feel. Touch of dark fruit and drop saltiness. Subtle. Taste is surprisingly robust compared to the smell. Nice fizzy warmth, watery bitterness with a dry finish. Accentuates the leather and drop. Nice!

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33cl bottle @ home from Bert’s Bierhuis, Utrecht. Body is opalescent rusty dark red, Head is big, creamy, beige, average lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is honey, malt, Aroma is more honey, caramel, herbs, fruit liquor, chocolate, slightly roasty, alcohol is noticable. Taste is medium to heavy sweet, medium bitter, light fruity sour. Finish is medium lasting liquorish bittersweet. Full body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Not too easy, too sweet and too much alcohol flavor for me.

The best Bock Beer in 2013 (awarded at the Amsterdam Bockbier Festival) will also be one of the best in 2014! A wonderfully composed taste palate - lots of things to discover with every sip - only the bottles should be bigger. And the design nicer - MUCH NICER!

Aroma of malt, caramel, lots of chocolate, some dark fruit, raisins. Flavour is medium sweet with a pleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. Quite well-balanced, I love that the sweetness is so restrained compared to most uber-sweet Bocks. Like the other Christoffel beers, they realise the value of bittering hops. My kind of Bock.
