Bottle 330 ml
Appearance : slight haze of dark gold , some amber shade , very light white , bright head. 2+ Nose: malty , sweet character , sugar empowered , slight hint of hops behind. Flavor/Palate : fill bodied. Thick malty base with hint of plum followed by bitter heavy hop profile. Some dryness of alcohol. Fruity hoppy strong lager. Some funk thanks to yeast used. ESL hybrid beer ? Reminds me of Van Pur (smile) , expected more refinery from Christoffel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hawthorne00 (1435) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 9, 2012
Bottle. Cloudy orange with a modest white head. Aroma is grainy with earth, lemon and flowers. Delicate, very slightly creamy alive mouthfeel. Sweet with hay, light honey and pears; gentle lemon, a little grapefruit and herbs. Long bitter herbal end. Alcohol is remarkably well-hidden for a strong lager. I liked it a lot given what it is, but it’s not as good as the Blond.

On tap at Pinocchio’s. Very intriguing beer. Straw colored, opaque. Fruity esters in the nose. Sweet grainy pils flavors in the malt base. Some light banana and pineapple fruitiness. Some grassy/hay hop finish. Perfectly carbonated. Very well done.

Absolutely delicous, hoppy pilsner. It has not been filtered or anything so you can see some hazyness which is of course nice if you really like beer. Very hoppy in a nice way. Strong beer, beautiful head and colour. One of the best beers overall!
