Hmmm, awesome beer this. Beautiful big head on a dark brown/read beer. Some banana, pineapple and some wood flavors. Nicely balanced, just a good beer. From the little Mitra in Mijdrecht.

Hazy red brown colour. Aroma has some wood, malt and hop. Flavour is quite malty with some red fruit sweetness and then hop dryness in the finish.

Bottle: Label says Christoffel Wijszer: Big vast thick creamy head, disappears slow, on top of a dark ruby colored beer. You can smell the herby hop flavours with some nice citrus, rose hip and nettle. There are also hints of ingredients which seem to come close to grains like wheat, malts, barleys, but mostly the lovely but soft smooth hop aromas is what hits the nose. Taste is very balanced crispy mix of hops, barleys, hint of fruit like citrus, light melon, light peach, rose hip, a touch of something yeasty and a slight hint of something mint. Really nice flavours. Aftertaste is a mix of nice hoppy citrus, with a medium bitterness, light barley malts and light stingy but not sharp nettle. Low carbo, soft velvet ish mouthfeel, a good medium body (leaning towards fuller) and a creamy texture. It’s not a deep beer, not complex, but very well balanced and smooth. I like it.
