Amber brown in color clear with a thin head. Good easy drinking nice rich dark chocolate malts and tobacco characters. I get a mild bitterness from the hops this was sweet and a terrific brew.

Draft at brewery: Deep amber-brown with a creamy, off-white head. Really nice mouthfeel -- creamy and smooth. Rich malt flavors of toast, chocolate, tar, tobacco and caramel. Mildish bitterness, but balanced. Somewhat sweet and chewy, but still easy to drink.

Golden-brown colour. The aroma is largely caramelly. Light body. Toasty accent. Hints of very light chocolate but mostly caramel. Weak finish.

draft at the brewery. crystal clear but very dark rubied amber, probably more mahogany, really. nice creamy off white head, but very little of it. rich roasty nutty mid palate with little hints of chocolate and marzipan. beautiful soft drinking lager.

On tap at the BP. Clear deep mahogany, with a lasting fine off white head. Faint, light malty aroma with notes of soft roasted grains. Flavor is sweet woody, toasted malts. Nice soft hints of toasty roasty malts.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2010 Dark brown color aroma of caramel vanilla malts sweetness. Flavor is sweet but not much else and leaves a bit metallic aftertaste.
Re-rate from the brewery. Much better this time, aftertaste was gone, might have been bad taps originally.

Chestnut brown with a moderate head. Aroma og German hops and light malt. Mildly sweet maltiness in the body with some caramel and nuttiness. Finish is nuts and toasted malt. A simple, well-done Dunkel.
