COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Pilsner, the world’s most popular style of beer, was invented in Czech Bohemia, perfected in Germany, and turned into flavorless mass-market fizz in America. Genuine Pilsner is a thing of beauty; it is delicate, sharp, flavorful, aromatic, and appetizing. While most people think pilsner came from Germany, its origins actually come from Bohemia. In 1842, a Bavarian monk smuggled lager yeast from Munich to the Bohemian town of Pilsen. Brewer, Jesef Grolle, used the lager yeast with British malting techniques to make pale malt, but was able to craft an even lighter malt, creating a beer golden in color. Only one year prior, Spaten brewery had stunned and delighted the people of Munich with it’s light bronze Marzen beer, before this time all beers had been dark and murky. Grolle’s Pilsner beer grabbed people’s attention and changed the world of beer. It had the color of burnished gold, and light sparkled straight through the glass, as no one had ever seen before. Cold fermentation left the beer clear and bright after it’s long aging process. The sharp clean bitterness with flowery aromatics was created from local Saaz hops. High levels of natural carbonation in Pilsner result from the long aging process, creating a pillowy white head on top of the golden liquid. People were captivated, and word of the new golden pilsner beer raced past the borders of Bohemia and swept throughout Europe. Genuine pilsner is truly mouthwatering, deeply satisfying, and incomparably refreshing! Original Gravity 12.5 Plato ABV 5% IBU’s 38
