Shaker pint draft at the brewpub in Bellingham, Washington. Pour is black with mahogany hints and a 1/2 inch khaki somewhat loose head. Thick coating lacing is left on the glass as it drinks down. Aroma is coffee roast and pine hops. Both are soft and well integrated. Taste is the roast up front - more char than coffee this time around. Transitions to a mellow sweetness and the bright pine hoppiness in the back. Palate is medium to thin, nice soft carbonation and the dry clean finish from the hops. Fresh, crisp and tasty stout.

Brown amber with light roast aroma with some muskiness to it. Nice. Watered down roast body with some sour, tannic malt bitterness. No horrible, but under-bodied, with too low a gravity for the style. Would not call this a sweet stout--just a run of the mill, brown ale/stout.

Tap at Naked City. Very little aroma, perhaps a little roast. Dark brown, no head. Light roasted malt flavor, a little chalky. Super thin and watery. Not much here.
