On tap at the restaurant. Great, interesting, historic location. Beer itself was a pretty straight forward bitter. Didn’t offend, and complemented the burger nicely.

Draught at the brewpub
Amber color. Light caramel aroma. Some flavor of caramel and toffee and butter. Ordinary.

Bottled, at Chumley’s, NY. Crystal clear amber colour with an attractive lacy bone head. A little thin an not as bitter as I’m used to in the UK.

Like a bulldog, this "bitter" took a bite out of my esophagus with its strong hop body and penetrating wallop of bitterness. More like an IPA, really. Oh yeah, decent head with a copper body, but who really cares about that stuff.
