COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a Belgian-style IPA, the esters and phenols have to hold up against a hoppy onslaught to remain relevant and noticeable. We think we accomplished that. The aroma of this beer is, frankly, mostly hops (we dry-hopped it twice) with a touch of the banana esters. As soon as you take a drink of this amber ale, you’ll notice all the flavor all at once. The esters are there, the hops are there and the phenols are there – and they battle until you swallow. The finish is mostly hops bitterness and clovey phenols. As those flavors linger, you’ll find that you’re ready for another sip. Original Gravity:

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy burnt orange with a thick white head. Aroma of melon rind, bready malt, sweet toasted malt. Flavor of orange peel, citrus hops, bitter melon rind, spices including anise and clove, and malt. More Belgian-y than IPA-forward but there is some bitter hops flavor in the flavor plus the orange citrus. Tasty! 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

This poured a semi cloudy yellow to orange with a white head. Aroma was nice fruintess, seemed to be both from the hops and the yeast character. Some herbal and spice notes too. Flavor was a very nice blend of IPA and belgian character, nice and spicey, mainly clove and coriander, blended well with lemon peel, citrus fruits and herbal notes. I;m impressed.
