Another release from the CBW Barrel Program: When we last brewed the Coconut Stout, we sent some
of it to freshly emptied bourbon barrels. Originally, the Coconut Stout is chocolatey with a milky coconut flavor
from the lactose and coconut additions. With nearly 4 months spent in the barrels, it is now has some additional
vanilla flavors from the oak and bourbon. Despite the strong flavors, this is a gentle, relatively low alcohol beer.

Specialty stout on draft at Church Brew Works. Not overly bourboned like most barrel aged stouts. The barrels were 2nd use barrels so the bourbon is a bit more subdued. Church also doesn’t use a ton of dark malts so the beer is a bit thinner. It does go down smooth though.

Tap into a CBW glass. Rich dark color with light head. Tempting bourbon and coconut flavor. Real smooth.

Draft at Church Brew Works. Hint of bourbon in nose and little in flavor. Maybe some hint of vanilla flavoring as well. Thin feel for a stout, light body, lacking bite for stout. Decent tasting brew, easy to drink, not what one would expect from a sweet stout.
