I love pumpkin beers and I love stouts. This is a great marriage of the two. Great stout taste with a hint of pumpkin. Very good.

Great autumn beer. Very full bodied and flavorful with a hint of spice and a nice pie flavor at the end. Would love to try on cask.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a black color with a huge foamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was very strong dry cinnamon, nutmeg, sour malts and ginger. The flavor was dryish and completely dominated by strong cinnamon, nutmeg and candied ginger. No discernible stout presence. Long, dry and spicy finish. Med body. Incredibly one dimensional and disappointing.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sammy (6119) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 25, 2010
Jason’s growler. Dark black coloured body. No head. Little arbonation, always was. Good aroma of chocolate and pumpkin and roast. Medium mouthfeel that brings the roast and chocolate, the pumpkin, cloves and nutmeg. Nice to have a pint, not tremendously drinkable otherwise.Balanced.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JStax (834) - Devola, Ohio, USA - NOV 7, 2010
On tap into a sampler glass. Appearance is black with a tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is of spices, pumpkin, coffee, and chocolate. Taste follows suit with the pumpkin playing the predominant role and coffee coming in at the end. Palate is smooth for such a heavy bodied beer. Very tasty.

Cask… Pitch black ale with a small, creamy, beige head. Good retention. The nose is deeply roasted and offers a subtle note of caramel alongside lots of autumn spice. Light to medium-bodied and creamy with almost no carbonation. Deeply roasted flavor with hints of pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice – nutmeg. Acidic, not overly so, but way more than the aroma led me to believe it would be. The tangy, roasty, thin finish dries out in the end.

On cask at the brewery. This was really dark brown/black with a big off white head. Aroma was pretty dry stout, roasted malts and hints of pumpkin. Flavor was very interesting, normal roasted malts seen in stouts, but the pumpkin flavor that came through was very different. It wasnt the spices of pumpkin pie that most of this style have, it actually tasted like pumpkin flesh, yummy. A bit thin as well

A very nice take on the stout style. Pour was a dark deep brown with a nice 2 finger tan head. Aroma was kind of weak, though. Could pick up burnt malt, but not much else. Taste was very bitter...roasted malt and pumpkin were in the front...then the bitterness kicked in. Bitter coffee and and burnt malt with the pumpkin coming back into play in the aftertaste. Overall a very unique and different beer. Pumpkin and stout. Who knew? My only problem was the mouthfeel was very thin and watery. NIce beer, though. Try it while you can.
