Commercial Description:
Also known as the "2000 Trippel".
We designed this beer to be Belgian in character including the addition of imported malt. It is beautifully golden in color with a complex fruit-like aroma and bubbly effervescence. The body is big and malty, while the hop profile is subdued. Since this beer is bottle conditioned, the flavors will develop over time. Be patient and let it age.

From 750mL bottle. Kind of buttery nose. Honey and pilsner malts, mild yeasty character with light spicy hops. Not a typical tripel aroma but pleasant. A bit of alcohol. Medium golden amber clear with light particulates. Medium foamy white lacing head. Medium fizzy watery body. Starts sweet with pilsner malts, honey, spicy hop bitterness and alcoholic burn. Light watery taste but probably because of the high carbonation. In the style of a tripel though not spot on. Warming with a bitter hop finish.

OTH tasting 09/06/08 courtesy of Nelson. Pours very hazy yellow gold orange with white head. The aroma is banana, tart notes, fruity esters and hints of bubble gum. The taste seems to blend both grainy malts and banana together to go along with fruity esters, more banana and some mild bubble gum. Very nice. It is smooth and blended without any disruptive bright notes that seems to be common for many in this style.

750ml bottle: This was called the "2000 Trippel". The bottle was undated, but probably from 2004 or 2005. This one pours a very cloudy, dark golden color. Mine had a very small head on it that dropped away rather quickly and left almost no lacing. The aroma is a bit lighter than I would have expected, but still nice. Bananas, yeast, breadiness as well as some spices to the nose. The taste is somewhat bready, with some banana, citrus, pepper and clove. Not bad at all.

Bottle. Pours a yellow amber body with a 4 finger high head which quickly disipates to a lacing. Aroma and flavor of sweet malts, spices, belgian yeast, fruit and citrus. Finishes dry.

Cloudy straw body with a rich white head. Smells yeasty and bready with hints of wheat, banana and spices. Spicy bready taste with clove and pepper notes. Tasty!
