COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The brewers of Bavaria, Germany, typically brewed a special beer for the annual Oktoberfest celebration. The style which evolved for such an occasion is appropriately called an Oktoberfest. You might also hear this beer referred to as a Märzen. That’s because this beer was traditionally brewed in March (‘Marz’ in German) and lagered in caves until September. Because we now enjoy the convenience of refrigeration, we can lager the beer in a much shorter amount of time. Our Oktoberfest is a light amber colored beer. It is malty in both flavor and aroma making it a delicate beer which is very drinkable. The hop bitterness is kept low to accentuate the maltiness. Notice the crisp clean character and enjoy. We brewed three batches of this beer so that we can bottle some of it in order to enhance our bottle beer selection. 14°

Draught at the Church. Very nice pale copper color with minimal head. The aroma is light and malty. Flavor is very nicely balanced, smooth, nutty. Light palate. Clean finish. I do not generally like Marzen style that much, but I liked this one.

12oz Bottle to Pint Glass. Clear Amber in color. with a slightly caramel note. A bit more watery than most of the oktoberfest beers that i have tried.

Not a bad beer. More like a brown ale than an Oktoberfest. Aroma was roasted malt, peanut and lager. Pour was a nice deep red with a one finger off white head.Taste was very nutty and roasty. Deep roasted malt, peanut butter and a hint of burnt caramel. Medium carbonation. Too malty for a true Oktoberfest, but a nice beer.

Poured a deep amber color with a medium tan head. The flavor had a lot of caramel with some spices. The finish was kind of hoppy and bitter. I really liked this beer.

Sampled on draft at 3 Rivers 6 Pack this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a trace white head that faded quickly. The aroma was tangy, sweetish and a touch fruity. The flavor was bitter, tart and dry with a nutty malt base and notes of caramel, nougat and faint citrus. The finish was long, tangy, dry and malty. Medium Body. Ok.

10/12/2009: Church Brew Works Oktoberfest... Aroma: Freshly pressed apples; hints of toasted malt. Appearance: Bright copper; transparent; forthy, lasting beige head; large speckly lacing. Flavor: Bread crust; pale malts; slightly toastey; light citrus; gently spiced hoppiness; beery finish. Palate: Medium body; smooth. Overall: Pretty good Oktoberfest.

Draught ( 14.0°P, 1.056 OG, 30 IBU, 5.2% ABV) at The Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh, PA. Rating #18 for this beer.

Tap @ brewpub: Clear amber color with no head. It has a toasted malt aroma with weak flavors and a thin and watery finish. Uggh.

This one poured a clear orange color with an off white head. Aroma was malty, bready, and sweet. Flavor was bready mainly, a bit grassy hops and slighlty sweet. Not too great.

Draught at BrewPub: Faint aroma of malts and nuts. Poured amber/slight copper in color with a small, off-white head that lasted around the edges. Clear. Not sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of light malts and a hint of brown sugar. Light to medium body. Thin, dry, chalky texture. Soft carbonation. Dry malt finish.
