2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle (12oz). No ClowGr’s tasting, shared with blankboy, jerc, mabel and tupalev. Hazy copper, pretty much no head. Earthy, mildly funky aroma, herbal and roasty. Taste - weak roast, lemon sourness, dry and grassy. Mouth - weak, watery, lightly acidic - meh.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Just noticed that frankenkitty has just rated <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/church-brew-piou before me, giving it the same numbers. How embarassing! Oh, well. It poured a dark caramel body with a modest tan head. The aroma has lightly roasted sweet malts, apples, and bitter, earthy nuts. The flavor begins with dark caramel and toast, an earthy bitterness building as you drink. Not bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to lithy for this one - Clear, cola-ish brown, with a nice off-white head. Toasty, slightly smokey aroma. Roasty, toasty flavor, too. Plus some coffee, some smokey notes, and, uh, mint? Maybe?

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Split a 12 oz bottle with friends. Poured a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some notes of roasted malts, some sweetness, touch of light chocolate. Flavor was a nice earthy hop character with some roasted malts, sweetness. Pretty easy to drink. Enjoyable.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
12 oz bottle, via CMUBEERMAN. Pours a clear dark copper/orangish color with a small off-white head that faded quickly. Aroma is rather grainy with some caramel and toasted malts. Flavor overall is very minimal, just pale malt with a light bitterness in the finish. None of the malty sweetness I look for. Mouthfeel is very thin with very active carbonation. Overall, except for the color, this was a Pale Lager. No sweetness or body, the hallmarks of the style for me.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2014 Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a medium brown color with a small white head. Very faint malt aroma. The flavor was bitter, nutty and dry with some roasted malt present as well. Actually this tasted a lot more like a brown ale to me than a dunkel. Nothing inspiring here.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle courtesy of Rogueone. Pours a semi-opaque amberish light brown with a medium off-white head. Yeast and malt notes in the aroma with a tidbit of hop. Good hop and malt balance in the flavor with some yeast for kick, but unspectacular and finishes pretty thin.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
ABC fest 06: Pours a mostly clear deep amber with woody brown highlights and a thin white head. Aroma is nutty and thick toasted malts with hints of caramel and light herbal noble hops. Slight crackery malt flavor with some toast, and light nuts in the end- overall a bit weak and not as full in the mouthfeel, but this could be due to its low abv.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to Tedwarhc for this bottle. Served in a tulip.
Pours a bright light copper-brown color with a very, very thin white head and only a bubble or two on top after a few seconds. No lacing. The nose brings some light caramel and bread crust along with faint earthy hops. Flavor is a nice combination of lightly-toasted bread and very mild caramel along with a touch of sweetness and light hops. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation; fairly chewy. Refreshing bitterness on the back-end. Good brew.
