By far their best all around beer. Lots of flavor without being overly bitter or watery. Always the first pitcher to empty at dinner.

Great Beer. One of their regulars that are brewed all year long. Hoppy but not heavy. Just a great german fest type of beers. My favorite among their regulars. Even better on draft at the brewery!

Old bottle 05 pours lively with a beige foam that quickly fades to a lone foam
island bombarded with mini tsunamis at each sip.Color:amber to brown leaning towards brown. Nice malt aroma, caramel and toffee.Taste very rich caramel flavor with some brown sugar sweetness. Not a big fan of german lagers this struck me more as a brown ale or a scottish ale.The age has rid it of all traces of hop and made it a easy drinker.

Clear, light brown. Light, nutty nose. Clean, sessionable palate with a subtle malt and nut character. Delicious! Could drink this all day!

Pours a clear dark reddish brown. Aroma is of coffee an roasted grain. The taste is malt forward with a nice blend of hops to balance the sweetness of the malt. The finish is clean while not dry.

Pours with a ring of lace with little stickiness. Fresh sweet corn, toffee, and a fruity malt sweetness hit the nose. Hop fruitiness and candied fruit matches the malt sweetness really well. The finish is roasty and very clean. A very well-made lager, as they are hard to come by. Cheers, Venom!

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2005 Pours a clear deep amber color with a small amount of white head. Aroma is sweet and caramely with hints of hops and fruits. Flavor is very well balanced and crisp: sweet nutty roasted malts followed by a slight subtle hop flavor. Overall, I found this beer to be very enjoyable.

This is the first beer I’ve had from the Church, and it is a really great starter. It’s light and crisp.
I’m not a huge fan of the label, however... too many breweries use the Algerian font.
