Pours a semi-clear caramel amber colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, a hint of cardboard, biscuits, sweet herbs and dry hops. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of dry biscuits, a touch of basement cellar/cardboard, clove, a touch of wintergreen and grassy hops. Finish is semi-dry, a hint of pumpernickel, dried fruit and mild bitterness. douglas88 (1686), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 23, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Pours a copper color with a medium white head. A odd herbal aroma, light hops. The flavor is very odd; herbal hops, seaweed and salty, fruity. Not sure what to make of it. OK. jeff789 (429), Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Sample at CBW. Pours clear copper with a medium off-white head. Malty aroma with some spicy hop and quite a bit of pineapple character. Read a lot of ratings about beers that have pineapple notes in aroma and flavor, but this is the first time I’ve experienced it. Flavor is dank malt along with pineapple and a grassy bitter finish. I liked this beer, but have to wonder if it tastes like this all the time or if it was just a fluke. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 16, 2009 Tap @ brewpub: Dark copper color with a roasted candy aroma? Butter flavors as well as non-sweet butterscotch. It has a mildly bitter finish which quickly dissipates. As far as generally following the idea of an English Pale, it does a pretty good job.
