3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the brewpub as "Saaz Monster." Pours a clear golden color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toasted caramel malts with lemony, spicy hops. The taste is big lemon hops, mild caramel malts. Medium bodied.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at the brewpub. Comes in a pint glass looking like pineapple juice; almost opaque bright yellow with zero head. Nose is mild, light pepper, light yeast, light hops. Was supposed to be the 2nd hoppiest beer on the menu with 35IBUs. Flavor was bland, wet white bread, light yeast, fake lemon. Watery finish. Not a good start.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2011 Sampled on draft at D’s in Monroeville this beer poured a dark golden color with a medium sized white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was tart, crisp, floral, grassy and a touch perfumey. The flavor was dry and bitter with lemongrass and perfume. The finish was long, dry and hoppy. Light body. Eh.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This one poured a lightly hazy golden yellow with a white head. Aroma was of noble hops, grass and pale malt. Flavor was similar, wish it was a bit more bright and crackery.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Saaz Monster at 6%, 35 IBU. Filtered orange-copper color. Foamy white head. Rather straightforward classic lager, nice Saaz feel but nothing "monstrous". Not really on par with a good German example. A touch grainy. OK.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
No visible co2 in this pale beer. Clean aroma with barely any smell. On the palate it is quite flat also. Quite strong pils bitter bite but it mellows as the session continues. Goes down fairly easy. Finish is OK with a mild medium noble hop linger that seems a little like chewing on an old rubber inner tube. On tap at the Works.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Twisted as Saaz Monster. Very light noble hop aroma and a hint of spice. Dull medium golden-amber clear with thin head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. starts with light pilsener malt sweetness. Medium noble hop bitterness, beany. Clean finish, not quite crisp. Decent pils.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear light orange with a thin white head. Aroma of pale bready malts and a touch of bitter hops. Flavor is more floral with hop bitterness and pale malts. More pilsener than hoppy pilsner but it’s drinkable.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tap @ Brewpub. Nose is essentially not there - very light peppery hop, extremely light malt character. Flavor is light honey, a tiny bit of toasted malt & soda water with undefined hop character - they are there, but don’t really express themselves at all.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Was not terribly impressed... Saaz character was there, but the pilsner malts and bitterness wasn't as prevalent as should be expected...
