bombshelter (344), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 5, 2008 clear amber. minty hops, pine in the nose. big hop flavor, lots of herbality, caramel up front to balance it out. surprisingly good, hides the 8% v. well.
doubleipa (219), Georgia, USA Aug 29, 2008 Had this on tap at the Harrisburg Brewfest. Aroma was great with lots of grapefruit and lots of pine and some toasted caramel, malt. Apperance was lightly hazy amber with a decent sized off-white head. Some acific bitterness with a mdium body. MrBendo (984), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Aug 27, 2008 Bottle. Clear dark orange color with a medium head. It’s got a pretty cool label on the bottle; Zeus with lightning produced hops. Not overtly sweet like other IIPAs, but not loaded with the normal hop flavors you’d expect. Might be stale hops, as there was no date on the bottle. Fruitfly (40), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 12, 2008 Bottle, 12oz. Deep hazy brown with a very small amount of fine head. Aroma is first quite sweet: bubble gum and then picks up with grape fruity hops. Flavor is sharp of hops and leads to a long bitter finish. The light body is a surprise given the murky appearance. A decent double IPA whose hops are unencumbered by excessive malts. mabel (1633), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 4, 2008 [1279-20080410] 12floz bottle. Super grainy hops aroma with citrus navel orange and toasted lemon and pine and sweetness. Clear, medium orange amber body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Pine hops citrus flavour has acidic bitterness and toasted malt. Medium bitter body. Good, but made even better because Zeus is throwing hop thunderbolts!
