COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The ThunderHop I.P.A. has an intense bitterness, flavor and aroma. We chose to use two varieties of American hops in the brewing process. The color is copper to amber and the aroma is noticeably hoppy due to the use of Glaciers in the dry hop process. You will also pick up a complexity from fruit-like esters. The body is big and malty with some caramel sweetness.

Red-gold body with small white ring for head. Nose of strong grapefruit, pine, and wood. Flavor is grapefruit and caramel. The palate is a little clean and foamy, and overall, the beer is just standard, though still drinkable.

Had this on cask. The beer looked great very murky with a offwhite head that stayed around for nearly the whole beer. Smell was earthy with some pine notes. Taste was alittle malty sweet with a piney hop flavor. Finish was alittle bitter. Tasted really flat to me.

Bottle from Cappelli’s in Washington, PA. This brew pours a mostly clear dark amber color with a thin white head that dissipates slowly. Hoppy aroma with touches of pine and citrus. Medium-bodied with a moderately bitter hoppy character. Notes of pine and grapefruit with a small amount of malt in the background as well. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness left behind. Overall there is just enough malt to keep this beer from becoming overly astringent but it is still pretty close to being too far in that direction. Still it is above average.

Bottle at the no Greg tasting, courtesy of, of course, Greg, shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, Jerc, and Mabel. Nice grapefruit aroma. Medium yellow, small white head. Decent taste - lots of grapefruit in taste - sort of harsh alcohol, grainy. Medium to thin body. Decent.

Bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of GregClow. Pours a hazy amber-gold with a large bubbly off-white head. Nice citrus & pine hop aroma, a little spicy too. Flavour’s nice enough, with hops and peppery spices backed by a decent amount of malt. Light bitter finish. Medium bodied. An O.K. version of a DIPA.

2008-04-10. Amber body with a modest white head. (3+) Aroma of soft hops, pine but note really resiny, muddled citrus. (7+) First sip is roughly astringent bitter hopes, notes of tea. The flavour improves as you press on, light muddled citrus, sharp bitter finish is fueled in part by mild alcohol presence. (6+) Average palate. Shows potential but it doesn’t seem to bring it all together. Bottle courtesy of GregClow<P>"It’s rated higher than the Mad Man bum crack... "

Bottle (12oz). No ClowGr’s tasting, shared with blankboy, jerc, mabel and tupalev. Hazy dark amber, solid frothy-foamy lasting head. Pungent and strong acidic spruce/pine resin hop aroma - simple and solid.Taste - very harsh, lemon/spruce juice and a long bitter resiny finish. Thick, acidic and only mildly carbonated - long bitter aftertaste. Taste took a little adjusting to, but pretty solid - would love to have it on cask

Pours somewhat dark brown, darker than most double IPAs. Aroma of amarillo hops. Flavor the same as aroma and very bitter.

12 oz. bottle via trade with Linus_Stick - Pours a clear amber color with a 1/2 finger thick off white head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is light citrus and pine hops along with some strong herbal hops. Flavor is a nice balance of hops and toasted malt. Has a slight astringent finish. Medium body. A decent beer. Thanks Alan.

Lots of hops, but not enough malt body to balance it out. Piney hops are rather one dimensional.
