COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The ThunderHop I.P.A. has an intense bitterness, flavor and aroma. We chose to use two varieties of American hops in the brewing process. The color is copper to amber and the aroma is noticeably hoppy due to the use of Glaciers in the dry hop process. You will also pick up a complexity from fruit-like esters. The body is big and malty with some caramel sweetness.

12oz bottle I picked up at the brewery pours a clear, deep orange with a thin, creamy white head. Nose is nice but mild, malty, crackers, lemons, orange peel, a little light pine. Flavor is similar, balanced, sweet, crackers, biscuit, orange, lemon, a little grapefruit. Medium bodied, dry, zesty finish. No real hint of the heavy alcohol. Very well balanced for an IPA.

12 oz draft at the Church. Pours clean amber with very thin white head that quickly recedes. Aroma of light citrusy hops and malt. Big malt flavor for an IPA, slightly smokey caramel malts, fairly bitter, balanced by citrusy hops with a slightly soapy aftertaste.

Had this on tap at the Jerome Bettis Grille on 3/14/12. It pours a deep copper with a medium white head. It has a heavy hops aroma with a hint of some sweet/fruity malt. A light to medium bitter taste. The body was light to medium with a rich, creamy texture and a light bitter finish. This was a very tasty IPA, but oddly enough I would expect more of a bitter taste. Usually I am overwhelmed by the bitterness of IPAs. I will, nevertheless, be having another the next time I am in the Pittsburgh.

Compliments of Uncle Tom! Thanks for the Beer! Pours a dark orange. Head, or what there was dissipated to a lacing on the edge. Aroma is of a floral hop. The bittering is evident from the start. The hop flavor is rather nice. Mouth feel is nice. Bittering on the back side is nice without leaving a bad taste in your mouth.

bottle. amber pour, heavy malt presence in both the aroma & flavor. bitterness was pretty subdued, i thought hop presence was pretty weak when i initially thought it was an IPA, as an IIPA it is even weaker. not too impressed

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks David Cohen. Clear amber. Aroma with some hops, flowers, guava, some malt and light grainy hints. Flavor has light sweetish notes with faint malt and lots of hoppy bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Dark, amber, toffee color with nutty malt tones and little hops in nose and mouth. Drank out of bottle and there wasn’t to much to this beer. This beer was sweet and toasty nut aftertaste. Not a favorite.

Pours hazy orange red with white head, aroma has notes of pine, grass, slightly muted citrus and some caramel. Taste is fairly simple, fairly hoppy with pine and grass, some slight citrus, with a nice biscuit and caramel middle, fairly bitter finish. Much more like a single IPA, but pretty good.
