COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The ThunderHop I.P.A. has an intense bitterness, flavor and aroma. We chose to use two varieties of American hops in the brewing process. The color is copper to amber and the aroma is noticeably hoppy due to the use of Glaciers in the dry hop process. You will also pick up a complexity from fruit-like esters. The body is big and malty with some caramel sweetness.

Pours a cloudy light brownish copper with a medium sized white head. Beautiful aroma of faint grapefruit, grassy pine notes and sour hard candy. Taste of grapefruit with light piney resin and grass. Has a finish of lemon tea flavor. Surprisingly good

Pours a dark slightly hazy brown with very little head. Aroma has a little roasty note. A little molasses and very little hops. Flavor is kind of roasty and with a really strong citrus rind bitter. There is a little butterscotch and a slightly warming alcohol. Body is medium heavy, but there is something missing.

Dark, amber, toffee color with nutty malt tones and little hops in nose and mouth. Drank out of bottle and there wasn’t to much to this beer. This beer was sweet and toasty nut aftertaste. Not a favorite.

Pours hazy orange red with white head, aroma has notes of pine, grass, slightly muted citrus and some caramel. Taste is fairly simple, fairly hoppy with pine and grass, some slight citrus, with a nice biscuit and caramel middle, fairly bitter finish. Much more like a single IPA, but pretty good.

Seems pretty subdued for a double IPA. Has some citrus on the nose but nothing too pronounced.

A dark reddish amber IPA with a thick moka head. In aroma, pleasant floral hops with wild grass notes. In mouth, a bitter and unbalanced version, lacking malts, bilous notes, watery. On tap at PA Flavor, April 9th, 2011.

(bottle - 12 oz) Cloudy copper pour with a thin white head. Sweet citrus and caramel aroma with some slight hints of boiled vegetables. Citrus and caramel begin quickly before the bitter and astringent hops take over. Very dry and peppery with a flavor that lingers and lasts. A bit too cloying for me.

Draft or bottle either way its good stuff. If you a fan of the amber IPA’s with the nice roasty burnt amber flavor this is it. It has a really clean taste and a nice dry finish that does not belie its 8% alcohol. Eat a steak and some spicy seafood and drink 3 or 4 of ’em. Plus the label on the bottle is bad ass, although I would never award points for artwork.

Draft at brewpub. Pours a hazy brown with little head. Flavor is pine type hopes balanced with a good malt presence. Finishes clean.

This beer came highly suggested as an IPA. Wow, what a major disappointment. Clear amber with a decent head, but this is considered an IPA? Where are the hops? Not in the smell of the beer, nor in the taste. Hardly had any hops flavor to it. It lacked the bite an IPA should have. It did have a citrus taste. Not a bad beer, not in the IPA league.
