COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The ThunderHop I.P.A. has an intense bitterness, flavor and aroma. We chose to use two varieties of American hops in the brewing process. The color is copper to amber and the aroma is noticeably hoppy due to the use of Glaciers in the dry hop process. You will also pick up a complexity from fruit-like esters. The body is big and malty with some caramel sweetness.

A dark reddish amber IPA with a thick moka head. In aroma, pleasant floral hops with wild grass notes. In mouth, a bitter and unbalanced version, lacking malts, bilous notes, watery. On tap at PA Flavor, April 9th, 2011.

Name: Thunderhop IPA
Date: 07/23/2007
Mode: Draft
Source: Brewpub

hazy burnt orange, fine beige head, bits of drippy lace, sweet dark caramel malt aroma with citrus hops, lots of citrus flavor, caramel malts add a bit of sweetness and a base for the big hop flavor, light bitterness kicks in half way through and lasts for a long bitter finish, bitterness starts to take over after a while

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear copper color with a large tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus and tropical hops and toffee malts. The taste matches. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, well balanced. Very nice beer.

Bottle from the Otown throwdown. Deep copper color with a light head. Aroma is ok on this one with citrus and pine. But flavor is awful, tastes like a zip lock bad. Really really not good.

This beer rocks!...They had just run out of Wit at the Brew Works and up went the slate with IPA on it. No specs were available from the staff at the time... Crystal clear, textbook amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. Cumulus lacing. Lots of fruity esters in the aroma (green banana and green apple) with notes of sweat and earth. Very nice, moderately bitter flavor. Well-balanced by a ton of malt. Toffee, pink grapefruit and pear. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, moderately bitter, dry finish. World class IPA!

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and lightly hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, floral, and toasted caramel. Tastes of basically the same. Alcohol content well hidden.

Bottle from Cappelli’s in Washington, PA. This brew pours a mostly clear dark amber color with a thin white head that dissipates slowly. Hoppy aroma with touches of pine and citrus. Medium-bodied with a moderately bitter hoppy character. Notes of pine and grapefruit with a small amount of malt in the background as well. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness left behind. Overall there is just enough malt to keep this beer from becoming overly astringent but it is still pretty close to being too far in that direction. Still it is above average.

Pours hazy orange red with white head, aroma has notes of pine, grass, slightly muted citrus and some caramel. Taste is fairly simple, fairly hoppy with pine and grass, some slight citrus, with a nice biscuit and caramel middle, fairly bitter finish. Much more like a single IPA, but pretty good.
