Very good IPA but didn’t really think it met the profile of a double or imperial, amber in color, smallish off-white head, nose full of hops, pine & grass, very dry & very bitter, lots of hop flavor with notes of grapefruit, lemon & grass, dry & bitter finish
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (6178) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 28, 2008
Bottle from Cappelli’s in Washington, PA. This brew pours a mostly clear dark amber color with a thin white head that dissipates slowly. Hoppy aroma with touches of pine and citrus. Medium-bodied with a moderately bitter hoppy character. Notes of pine and grapefruit with a small amount of malt in the background as well. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness left behind. Overall there is just enough malt to keep this beer from becoming overly astringent but it is still pretty close to being too far in that direction. Still it is above average.

Bottle via Todd. Beautiful coppery pour, light tan head. Hugely malty nose, big caramel, light spice (and, as is becoming more common for me, getting some faint notes that remind me of cookie dough). Taste is dark, very dry and bitter, light resin, light floral citrus notes in the back. Really strips everything of the tongue, a super-cleaner that would be good with greasy food. Lightish body, big juicy hop taste. Nice!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nephilium (1164) - Ohio, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Nice pine hop aroma, pours a clear amber, with next to no head. Nice punch of hops, with a dry bitter finish. There’s a long lingering bitterness, low carbonation, and a medium body. Easy drinking, and a solid IPA.

12oz bottle thanks to Mrchopin. Pours clear dark orangish amber with small light tan head. Aroma is citrus, pine, floral hops, sweet malt and some spices. Flavor is citrus, pine, hops, caramel and sweet malt and finishes bitter. Lots of sweet malt. Not enough hops for a double in my opinion but it is not a bad beer just not a good DIPA.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 ReademNwheat (174) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 2, 2008
Draft. Pours amber/copper. Nice citrusy aroma. Notes of grapefruit, citrus and piney hops in the taste. Decent brew. Earlier Rating: 1/31/2008 Total Score: 3 Had this on cask. The beer looked great very murky with a offwhite head that stayed around for nearly the whole beer. Smell was earthy with some pine notes. Taste was alittle malty sweet with a piney hop flavor. Finish was alittle bitter. Tasted really flat to me.
