hopscotch (4588), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 30, 2004 Crystal clear, burnt orange lager with a small, creamy, quickly dissipating, white head. Ink-blot lacing. Spicy, malty, yeasty aroma with notes of Red Delicious apple, chocolate, fig and plum. Well-balanced flavor: malty, but nicely bittered. Blasts of banana, alcohol, apple, molasses and plum. Full-bodied with medium carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Lengthy, fruity, then bone-dry finish. Very nice beer. Pulls up just short of being world class in my book! boto (1224), Granby, Connecticut, USA Nov 19, 2004 Draught at the brewery: Served in a tulip glass. This one pours a clear, very dark amber. There was a bit of an off-white head that had some lacing. There was some sweetness to the nose: malts, fruits (plums and raisins?) as well as a hint of alcohol. The taste has notes of caramel sweetness, some fruit, and a hint of tartness in the aftertaste. Somewhat warming. Good! Drew (2377), Kent, Ohio, USA Nov 11, 2004 Banana bran muffins in liquid form. Dark brown, very carbonated looking but actual palate was smoother. Along with the strong sweet banana was some smoke and a dry finish. It’s only drawback was that the body seemed a little thin. MAP (897), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Nov 8, 2004 From Growler: Poured a nice redish brown with a thin layer of head. Good spicey malt nose, somehwta nutty as well. Flavor has a hint of banana and berry and the palate is rather smooth overall. The alcohol content is not obvious so it results in a quite drinkable experience. blank (999), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jul 23, 2002 Thinker and hoppier then most of the brewworks beers.
