On tap last week at the Church. Small glass, very nice. dark ruby color, fair head, some lacing, lots of licorice, medicinal, and the alcohol is a nice contribution. quite sweet and drinkable

Tap @ brewpub. Nose is liquorice, jagermeister, sweet black jellybeans. Flavor is medicinal and herbal liquorice, honey & strong bitterness. Its interesting but I wouldn’t want anything more than the sampler glass I had.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2011 I swear I saw a little steam or something rising from this when they poured it. Odd aroma of wood on old leather. Weird strong spicey initial flavors smack you in the face with a big alky backbone. Wew! Bitter like wow. Interesting and unique but a little over the top. I’m not a fan of spicey beers and this just reinforces that line of thinking. Don’t know what to make of this. This is a one timer fer sure. Does not hide alky well and even tho there is no hops in this brew it sure is bit bit bitter, like gramma’s cough medicine. Not for the faint of heart. Long bitter medicinal finish and I think I’m getting dizzy near the end of the session. No detectable co2 in this stuff.
