10/12/2009: Church Brew Works Rhineland Roggen... Aroma: Fruity and spicy; Belgian-like. Appearance: Hazy amber color; collapsing dense and frothy beige head; good leggy lacing. Flavor: Fruity and spicy; decent rye showing. quite a big of Belgian-like yeast; hints of nuts, bread crust, bubblegum, banana. Palate: Medium-full body; smooth; moderately thick. Overall: Too much like a Belgian Ale and not enough like a Roggenbier.
Draught ( 13.5°P, 1.054 OG, 10 IBU, 5.0% ABV) at The Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh, PA. Rating #1 for this beer.

There was a small off-white head that left some lacing. It had a nice nose. Wheat, banana, rye, clove, some spices were the most obvious. The taste is also very good. It had a medium body, and a slightly silky texture. Flavors of wheat, rye, banana, clove. This was very good! JaBier (1219), Capital City, Ohio, USA

Flavor is the same. Dunno if it’s just my palate, but when these characteristics are in a beer they dominate my taste buds and nothing gets through. Never would have guessed there’s rye in here.
