Cask conditioned at Harbury Beer Fest ’07. Brown amber with white head. A darker bitter that almost works, there is a rich malt and a late light hop but also a chemical farty eggy note that dominates.

At the altar, naturally. Chestnut pint reeking of oily hop, roasted malt, almost onion-like sweatiness. A touch of ratpiss. There’s a species of English Bitter that should always reek offensively. Opens with dark berryish hoppy fruit, earthy resins, richly roasted malt and develops a caramelised toffee note. Doughy malt and wafery afters. Superior bog standard hoppy/malty Bitter, but a bit rich for me.
