Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham. Ruddy bitter, with some good froth. This has what I refer to as a cloudy hop, with some jam, thickness in the mouth, and a pleasant, tongue-coating tang. Definitely one of Church End’s better efforts, which means I’ll probably never see it again...

Alfresco goosebumps at the brewtap (from the cold). Nose of urinal, dishcloth dankness, deep hop leafiness in the background. Mouth plastic, peanut husk bitterness, gooseberryish hops in the middle, pear, quinine/peanut, apple, more plastic. Oaty/peanutty afters. Dense with flavour, but not quite right.
