1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 imdownthepub (7473) - Banbury, - SEP 23, 2004
Cask conditioned at The Dun Cow, Hornton, Oxon. Strange yellow with little head. Overpowering lemony sweet malt, a little unpleasant, vanilla with caramel. Not keen.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 berkshirejohn (3014) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 15, 2008
Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading. Amber with a thing ring of white head; slight aroma of honey and malt; crainy and floury to start then developing a little apricot fruit; finish is dry and slightly spicy. A very boring "lager style" beer, with little going for it.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DruncanVeasey (5146) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2008
Hand-pulled at the brewery this evening. Pooh. Pint of, please. Recommended this to the curious at the bar, and I’m sorry. Even more yellowy than most of Church’s increasingly lagery brews. Yeah yeah, sniff of honeyness to begin with drenched in lemony hop, musty English/continental resins and fresh leather. Smells alright. Crumbled digestives and Malted Milk. Marzipan booziness in a half-decent pencilly Czech-tasting soft lager at 4.3%. Not great.

Tasting notes from 2003 Harbury beer festival. Straw with thin white head. Sweet malt, honey aroma notes. Honey, caramel, and grass flavours. Watery and flat.

Gravity Cask, Kent Beer Festival. Sulphur aroma. Soft. Some citric qualities. A bit muddy. OK. A hint of strawberry.

Fresh, summery, lemony, grassy, with some buttery/toffee malts, simple and easy to drink, innofensive. (Cask-KentBF 03')
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Nuffield (3087) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUL 27, 2003
Very cool name, perhaps suggestive of Pooh's color, but I found this in a BBC article about the brewery: "The honey in their popular Pooh Beer is from a bee keeper whose apiary is just up the road from them in Ridge Lane." Where is the honey? Hazy light yellow color, very irregular clinging head. Buttery aroma and bland flavors, like lager from a bottle with some grassy flavors as well.
