3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 downender (5187) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 28, 2010
Cask-conditioned at the Cross Hands, Winterbourne Down, S Gloucestershire 27/05/10. Dark, reddish amber with a slight, off-white head. Sweet, fruity aroma, with some caramel, yeast and burnt sugar. Flavour was sweet, with some earthy malts, citrus and spice, leading to a decent bitter finish. Unusual and drinkable.

Dark amber with a white head. Floor polish malt aroma. Taste is sweet with some citrus and bitterness. Pretty ordinary bottled beer. It wasn’t very exciting, but it went down well enough after a day at work.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Alphadelic (1629) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 7, 2009
Bottle.
Tawny beer with over-sized floaties.
Lightly boozy aroma with rich raisins and candied fruit as one may find in a grandmother’s cake.
Sweet and lightly fruited again in the mouth.
Thin and overall a bit gross. Very metallic throughout.

Doesn’t bottle well on this evidence. Headless soupy red pour. Clear at first but tipped the sediment in to try and inject it with some....something. Vaguely roasty. The merest nibble of dusty pear fruitiness. So boring I could cry.
