Cask conditioned at The Bear, Stratford upon Avon. Pale gold with slight head. Farmy, sulphery nose leading into a gypsum filled, bitter, dry, slightly harsh on the palate, long. Not the greatest.

#999, hand-pulled at the brewery. Clear and golden. Grapefruit/mandarin hopsack aroma. Quinine/peanut husk bitterness at the back of the tongue like a really dry pilsener, without any softening afters. Octo couldn’t take it and tipped hers into mine. Harshly hoppy and citrussy. A chew of oat. Shampoo-coated grapefruit. Full-on, generously hoppy pale golden ale, but not quite worthy of my 1000th posting......

Cask-conditioned at Bag O’Nails, Bristol 15/11/07. Pale gold with a slight white head. Slightly sweet aroma with some hay and floral hops. Flavour was bitter with a hoppy, dry finish. Good.
