COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our original brew, (some just call it "Church-Key".) This Stock Ale was designed to be a throw back to the tavern ales of the 40’s and 50’s. Crisp, light palette with a dry citrus finish.

Beer Fest, Toronto: Not sure if this is a throw-back to anything. Notes of hop and yeast. Faint taste of hops and malt kick in after the citrus fruit. Lite, crisp, and pleasant.

I am partial to this beer. One of my favourite southern Ontario craft beers. Strong aroma, with an intense sweet or fruity taste. Plenty of character although discourages those looking for a hoppy taste. Enjoyable.

A revisited beer. This sucked when I first had it. Poured amber with a decent 2 finger head that laced. Still smells bready as all hell - there might be hops in there somewhere, but this is as strong as living next to a bread factory. Yeast and more yeast. Taste is a bit better balanced - Malty but still fairly yeasty. Light to medium bodied, good carbonation for the, erm..... style? dunno what I;d classify it as but the overly bready aroma takes away a lot from this beer. Churck Key can make a good beer, but if they consider this their flagship someone needs their head examined.

I tried this beer on tap on August 12, 2011 at "C’est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was translucent dark gold, with a thin white creamy head. The aroma was grainy malt, some floral hops, and some sweetish notes. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was grassy malts, some milky sweetness, and a yeasty taste. I’ve generally enjoyed Church-Key brews, but this isn’t one I dig all that mightily!

Got a 6-pack of this one, but one bottle would have been enough. Not that it’s bad. It’s just pretty average and there’s no reason to want another one. There are better ales out there.

Bottle. Thanks to Andrew for the share. Poured clear golden brown with fizzy head that fizzes quite quickly. Aroma led on that this beer would have a lot of body but it was very thin. Alright beer. I’m glad I tried it.

pours clear golden with a decent white head. malts, sweet malts, hint of wheat, some subtle herbal hops. plain and boring. more of a plain golden ale than an EPA.

On Tap- Light golden color with a small head that fades to some lacing. Fruity aroma with hint of sweetness. Taste seem to be of grain with a dry finish. Fairly light body. Goes best with food. Pretty bland, expected more for this style of ale.
