Flat front with clean mead-honey feel in center. Flowery feel abound, sweet sugary finish. Slightly flat at end, missing alcoholic punch to balance.
HogTownHarry (3361), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Nov 17, 2008 Cask. At Volo Cask Days 2008. this rating has eluded me for a long time - and now I get it on cask! Poured a pale greenish, somewhat oily-looking, no head, a little clouding to it. Aroma of fresh clover and honey - pungently of clover. The taste is very light and delicate, just mild honey sweetness, very grassy and fresh. Incredibly soft and light mouthfeel, still on the tongue, a light quick finish - yummy and dangerously easy to drink. jerc (3268), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 13, 2006 TFOB 2006. Yellow body with a small white head. Muted sweet aroma is lightly floral, honey. Dry flavour with a sweet honey middle, light floral spicyness. Average palate. Nice mead, very drinkable with a nice balance too. Well done Church Key. Sammy (3242), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 11, 2007 Enriched yellow colour with thin crown of little bubbles. Fizzy carbonation. Thin mouthfeel and astringent for a mead, even one brewed with hops. Half a cup is enough. blankboy (2687), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 14, 2006 Draught at Smokeless Joe. Wow, 1300 ratings and this is my first mead, I’m not even sure how to rate a mead. Oh well, here goes: Pours a clear bubbly pale yellow with a small lasting white head. Sweet aroma of honey, grain and apple -- pretty nice. Flavour: hmmm, strange: starts mild, dry and sweet but really kicks in halfway with alcohol and bitterness and there’s not as much honey as the aroma suggests. Pretty light bodied. It’s alright but I can only handle a small amount of this, I can’t imagine someone drinking a full glass.
