3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, purchased at the 2012 Spring Revival weekend in May 2012 and consumed at that time (well, when I got home from the awesome day). Dark red pour, creamy head. Nice smoke aroma. Taste also features the smoke - woody - but not overpowering. Sweet otherwise. Alcohol present. A really solid and different (vs holy smoke) smoke beer from Church Key.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Brothers Beer Bistro in Ottawa
Aroma: Smoked bacon
Appearance: Brown, not a lot of head, little lacing.
Taste: Malty, smoke, roasted and again bacon. A lot of roasted notes. Smooth mouth feel, close to a porter. Thin and watery texture. Flavors are not very complex but the feel is smooth for a smoke beer. Not harsh at all. I usually don’t like smoke beers but I was surprised with the smooth feel of that one.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, pours a dark black, aroma is a bit light, but the flavour is really solid, it is as good a flavour in a smoke beer as I have had, its got a nice stouty roasty quality up front and in the finish a really nice not over powering smoke flavour, it just a solid brew, definitely the best I have had from this brewery. Nice work

On tap. Pretty dark amber pour with a thick cream head. Aroma is smoke, dark chocolate, nutty, vanilla. Fairly thick and sticky. Sweet and balanced. Nice woody undertones. Pretty enjoyable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A dark reddish clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a light smoked caramel malt with light boiled veggies, celery salt, and bacon. In mouth, a smooth peaty nutty malt with light butterscotch, fruity esters, not bad. Shared with Mike and friends, April 1, 2012.
