A dark-ruby colored treat that is a fine winter-warmer. Double decoction and a heap of Weyermann Caramunich malt make for a caramel rich beverage with subtle fruity notes of prune and grape. This Doppelbock is a full-bodied beer that goes down warm even in the cold, and can be enjoyed all winter long!

Aroma is smoky/burnt and tart/fruit. The flavor is fruit, malts, very light citrus, spices, and a mildly alcoholic finish. A little out there as far as doppelbocks go, not bad just more of a winter warmer than doppelbock.

On tap at The Beer Market, Bolingbrook, IL. Pours a reddish brown color with a small, biege head. Aroma of brown sugar, molasses, mild grain and caramel. Flavor is mildly sweet with a touch of burnt sugar notes, slight bitterness, and mild booze. Medium body with average carbonation. Nice, clean, flavorful. This is an enjoyable doppelbock.

Sampler swing-top bottles brought from the brewery by Chet, and poured to a Czech-pils glass at Lunar Brewing Co., displaying a clear, dark walnut color, with a modest layer of tan head foam, and spotty lacing. The nose was light grain, with some toasty scent, caramel, a touch of brown sugar-like sweetness, and just a hint of malt prompted dark grape. Medium bodied, and moderately carbonated, the taste presented similar notes, moderate to low hop bitterness, with more of an assertive malt flavor. A clean and tasty dark lager.
