Bottle, 22oz, at TFODRBSG 2012. 2010 vintage it seems, but the wax was more copper than gold, so maybe 2012? A black one, more or less, clear looking and topped by a dense, beige head. Dark chocolate, roasted malts, some coffee and a touch of vanilla. A little bit of vanilla on the palate, with roasted malts, something boozy, dark chocolate and a little bit of coffee. Full body, soft on the palate. Lasting chocolatey finish. I guess Mr Churchill could’ve had some fine hours with this one. 120818

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pitch black ale with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head that never quite goes away. The nose is a gorgeous swirl of nutty raw oak, bourbon and chocolate with undertones of port, tobacco and maple syrup. Full-bodied and velvety with lively carbonation. Flavor-wise, it’s chocolaty and full of carbonaceous charred oak and tobacco with light acidity. Finishes acrid, burnt and moderately bitter. World class bottle of beer courtesy of giarcsr!
