Cheri Tart is an easier drinking sour ale, with a light but noticeable sour cherry aroma and flavor. This is one of few CIB beers we recommend drinking extra cold. The original version of this beer was a lambic made with cherries picked by us off a neighborís trees, due to short supply the beer was changed to a Sour Ale and contains no cherries. A great summer time beer due to itís refreshing tartness. Available in bottles and Draught.

Bottle (dregs)Ö RBWG 2013Ö Murky caramel-colored ale with a fat-bubbled, white head. The aroma offers vanilla, cherries, bread dough and a pleasant acidic nuance. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with soft carbonation. The flavor is tart and loaded with bread dough. Surprisingly, this is not at all fruity. Finishes tangy, bready, then somewhat raspy and dry. Much better than expected.

Bottle during RBWG. Pours a cloudy red copper with small off white head. The aroma is hairspray and plastic. Medium mouth with light tart cherry and plastic. Best cib beer on the trip.

A dark cherry body momentarily supports a fizzing, fading, frothy, medium-light khaki head, which very nearly achieves complete dissipation

Aromas and flavors of tart-sour-juicy red, orange, yellow, and blue fruit with a touch of pure sourness complimented by cool minty accents over a mellow layer of wine marinated beef on a mildly spritzy, smooth, medium-light body offering juicy strawberry-cherry-blueberry-orange residuals with balanced sweet-tart character

Another CIB beer which seems to be the victim of reviewers allowing othersí statements to guide their own words, I felt this was an enjoyable brew with well-balanced, acidic, sweet and sour character

Bottle forced upon us but Prufrock, or I should say, bottle nicely gotten for me to tick by Chris. Just like expected, its poorly made high octane autolysis with cherry hints on the nose. The flavor is less autolysis and actually some decent sourness and a slightly fresh cherry finish. If the beer was all like the very end of the flavor that would be da bomb. Thanks again Chris.

Bottle pour split at a tasting event. Pours a dark ruby red with a thin patchy head. Bit of a dark fruit aroma. Decently sour right away. Overly sweet cherry flavor with an almost sweet wine like finish. Not what I expected, but definitely doesnít deserve the hate it is getting. Decent sour beer.

Tasted on 2/8/14 from a bottle at the RBWG Grand Tasting, "thanks" to the Nielsens for sharing. Pours hazy brown with a thick beige head that leaves rocky lace. The nose is sweet malty brown sugar, sweet maraschino, and grenadine. The flavor is oxidized, but overly sweet with grenadine, brown sugar, and maraschino cherry, only a bit of tartness at all. The body is full with average, smooth carbonation, and a long oxidized maraschino cherry finish.

Sample @ RBWG Grand Tasting. Thanks to the Nielsens for the garbage. Amber pour with a small head. Pretty farty, unappealing nose. Artificial berry concentrate. Taste is similar. Soupy and muddled. Not outright terrible, but fairly unappetizing.

Bottle that Max suckered me into trying during RBWG GT. Poured a muddy dirty brown with a frothy light beige very spotty head. Aroma starts of like ketchup and mustard combined then some sweet honey and alcohol. Thinner body that actually seems thinner the more you sip it. Flavor isnít much better than the aroma but a little ketchup mustard than aroma and a little more fruit. Blah this is bad.

Bottle at RBWG 2014. Hazy reddish amber color. Aroma of dusty citrus. Taste is sweet and sour something. Whew.

RBWG14 Trip Rating #102. Bottle courtesy of the Nielsens at the Grand Tasting. Pours a hazy red color with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of cherry, citrus, earth, caramel, raisin. Lightly tart and a little dirty. The taste is tart citrus, raisin, caramel, spice, mild tartness. Medium bodied.

Bottle "generously" shared at the RBWG winter tasting. Hazy copper pour. Nose is slightly medicinal of cherry cough syrup. Mild toffee and slight cherry sourness. Slight tomato pie in the finish. Not the monstrosity I was anticipating. In fact, Iím disappointed in its mediocrity.
