750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of citrus, roasted malt and light cocoa. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of roasted malt, citrus and coffee with a crisp dry tart lingering coffee finish.

A black to mahogany body sits beneath a tall, frothy, lightly fizzing, med-light khaki head, which creates light lacing, and settles to a thin ring

This is a tale of two very different styles realizing they actually have a lot in common, interesting aromas and flavors with leather, weathered barn wood, red fruit, mellow creamy lactic notes, and mild green and yellow sourness merging wild yeast character into a coffee stout with brown notes of chocolate, woody coffee, dark fruit, and oat creaminess on a smooth, medium body with medium carbonation leading to tart red fruit dominant residuals with accents of the other previously mentioned components

An interest in wild ales is a must heading into this one as CIB brews everything with wild yeast and/or bacteria, I wasn’t quite sure what I would taste based on the deScription, but they pulled this off, and I’m surprised at the very low scores, I’ll get this one again

Earlier this year I asked Chris to bring back my Iowa tick, and he came through in true style with this bottle that we shared at a tasting. Glowing brown appearance, sweet tart aroma and similar sweet tart flavors, hints of mosquito repellant and, as others pointed out, tomato puree. Oatmeal cookie. No hint of the coffee. Overall, it’s almost drinkable and I’m almost disappointed. It’s not nearly as bad as I had hoped and expected.

Bottle at a Seattle tasting. Sour breakfast ale, rich brown, small head. Strange beer, obviously. Fruity sweet aroma, tart body, skunky dusty chocolate. licorice. Not as bad as we would have thought. Style is kind of insane, so hard to judge it against that. Odd beer.

750mL bottle, pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of smoke, leather, coffee, and sour notes - not cohesive at all. Flavour is quite terrible, but not a disaster somehow, with notes of coffee, wild yeast, sour notes, and vomit. Man, this is bad, but certainly not quite as bad as the overall rating suggests.

Bottle shared by Ferris, not sure if I can thank you for this one buddy! Aroma..WTF coffee, and an Easton aluminium stick that Getzkey used when he played for the Kings. Taste is sour up front which isn’t bad, but the aftertaste is like chewing a peace of juicy fruit with the foil still on. Not very good.

From a 750ml green bottle, yellow wax. Pretty sure the label said "Breakfast Ale", not stout. Deep brown pour, noisy beige head on top that dies quickly. Smells like a cheap brown ale, metallic notes, caramel. Taste is lemony and metallic, come chocolate malt and cola notes. The aftertaste is like sucking on a penny. Why the fuck would someone brew this.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2014 Bottle - Briny, metallic and soured malts. Deep brown with a bubbly beige head. Not great, but not as horrible as expected. Soured malts and briny.
