Took me a while to track this one down as the ’Sweet’ seems more accessible, this one seems an oddity. Tasted from the bottle and poured into a chalice, quite cool but not cold. Clear medium gold body, a small flurry of bubbles up the centre of the glass raised a tight white creamy head that lasted the distance and left a little lace. Strong spicy and tart apple nose with an unusual, but not necessarily overbearing, metallic edge. Extremely dry and puckering in the mouth, high carbonation bounces acidic apple flavours across the tongue with a razor sharpness, that finishes off quite tart and borderlining on astringent. Very light bodied with a light creamy apple note, more from the head than body, and a long apple and white wine finish. Very crisp and refreshing, this wasn’t as powerful as the ’Sweet’ (lower finishing gravity) but it was a nice clean cider, perfect for the summer months.
