4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 radiomgb (2078) - Peterborough, - DEC 30, 2009
Bright golden in colour with no head and some light alcohol lacing. The aroma is moderately sweet, lots of apples, brown sugar, moderate alcohol. There is some noticeable alcohol in the flavour but the baked apples are the most dominate part, some burnt sugar as well. Sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, mild carbonation. Finishes with a bit of heat, lots of sweetness and more baked apples.
This is as close to an apple desert as you can get in a cider. Pie in a bottle.
375ml bottle purchased at Cidrerie Michel Jodoin in Rougemont, Quebec.
Opened on December 30, 2009.
No date but I’ve had the bottle for 2 1/2 years..

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 11, 2011
2011-01-08. Dark golden yellow body with small syrupy legs on the glass. 3+ First sip is like simple sweet apple juice, rich sweet apples follow, very light tannins and mild tartness in the finish, very light acidity balances things and grows as you go. 7+ Aroma is lightly musty, notes of apple skins, and sweet apples. Smooth syrupy medium bodied palate. Fairly simple but enjoyable ice cider. Bottle from Trappe au Fromage, Gatineau
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 10, 2011
[3546-20110108] 375mL clear bottle. Mild rose honey hints in the aroma. Clear, deep orange body with a few quick bubbles. Apple juice sweet flavour has a long lingering sweet aftertaste. Medium body is quite sweet. Really interesting but overall no sock-knocking and just a tad too sweet. (6/3/7/4/15) 3.5

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 3, 2010
375 ml bottle shared with Rciesla. Purchased at Peluso. Pours a still clear bright peachy orange with some legs. Aroma is somewhat fresh apple juice, not as fresh or sharp as some others, but still nice- honey sweetness, a touch of wax and green apple skin. Flavor is syrupy sweet though not as big or thick as some 10% or above ciders, honey, floral, slight grass and vegetable with green apple skin slight astringency. Mouthfeel is oily a touch waxy, smooth, and a good raw acidity that cuts the sweetness down a bit- sharp prickly acid on the tip and around the tongue gets a touch tingly which is nice. Very smooth overall, mostly fresh I like the overall acid level and just seems very straightforward as a good ice cider- nothing too complex but still very enjoyable.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rastacouere (5921) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 2, 2010
Broadly distributed ice cider which finds its way even in some grocery stores here in Quebec. It might as well for its an authentic, albeit straightforward example. While holding a fair share of acidity, it remains less so than most of the top examples, playing on a baked, brown sugar basis. Applesauce meets a fair share of fruit acids in this fresh, fragrant offering that feels a bit cloying for the flavour range it displays. Light-medium bodied for an ice cider, it remains accessible, yet more tha honest.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hopscotch (7529) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - SEP 19, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 30, 2008 Bottle... Post RBSG ’08 O-Town/Vero Beach Throwdown Chapter 8... This cider rocks!... Pale yellow cider with no legs. The aroma is restrained and I can’t pick much up at first, but trace notes of green apples and praline are finally pulled from my glass. Full-bodied and oily with no carbonation. Ultra-sweet and ultra-tart apples – apples – apples . Wow! I mean Wow! Tart, acidic finish. Thanks go out to TheCheeseMan for sharing this bottle of world class cider!

Courtesy TheCheeseMan. Clear straw color, almost no head. Nice tart appleskin aroma, a little bit of alcohol detectable. Moderate tartness on the taste, the alcohol present, but doesn’t get in the way. Well balanced and tasty.
