Our collaboration with B. Nektar Meadery. Ghost Stories is a Braggot (fermented from both barley and from honey) that was brewed with lager yeast, making it a truly unique experience. The honey used for the mead portion is Meadowfoam, which is most notable for its huge marshmallow flavors. We also added some chocolate, coconut, Chinese black smoked tea, and a touch of white oak as well.

Deep brown pour. Aroma is all over the place. Earthy, sweet, chocolate, s’mores, boozy. Flavor is similarly schizophrenic and overly sweet. Some funky hot back notes, boozy and sticky. Not very pleasant.

Bottle shared at the Foothills Sexual Chocolate pre-release party. Pours a dark chocolate brown. Nice slick body. Some coconut milk sweetness balances with silky dark chocolate. Slight char flavor at the end. All in all really enjoyable.

750 mL bottle shared by Paul T, served cool in a tulip glass. Deep brown black with a small light mocha head. Very deep dark, tangy, vinous, black pepper, a little chocolate and vanilla, aggressive, strong oak, quite a bit of alcohol. Medium+ body with relaxed effervescence. Huge and dark, peppery, lots of oak and alcohol, a little touch of chocolate and vanilla, very big and dark; off-dry with surprisingly gentle bitterness and a fairly long, dark, alcoholic finish.

Bottle at tasting, thanks Balder. Pours murky very dark brown, with a small head. Aroma has a lot of herbal notes along with chocolate and honey. Taste is pretty much the same. Medium carbonation. A bit disappointed.

Bottle... Murky dark brown beer with a small, creamy, off-white head. The bouquet offers sweet notes of cocoa, roasted marshmallow, cotton candy and nougat. Full-bodied and oily with lazy carbonation. Sweet, roasty, moderately boozy and lightly bitter. Finishes candy-sweet and roasty. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

This is not good. Aroma is caramel, plastic, bandaids, and triaminic. Taste is more of the same with tons of plastic and odd flavors with a huge sweetness. Impossible to drink more then a sip or two.
