An imperial sweet stout brewed with cherries and cacao nibs, which is then aged in bourbon barrels. This beer is brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller our generous friend from Copenhagen, Denmark. What you have here is a modest attempt to emulate the experience of biting into a chocolate-covered cherry candy. We hope you enjoy it but you never know what you’re gonna get.

Bottle split at the Kernel, massive thanks to Paul, 09/11/13. Pitch black with a good sized dirty tan head. Nose carries a good dark roasted assault on the nostrils, cherry notes, bourbon evident, woody booze tang, dark chocolate, light smoke. Taste comrises dark chocolate, Black Forest Gateux, molasses, earthy, brown sugars, dark berry fruit tang. Full bodied, fine carbonation, boozey closure, a little cloying. Solid impy from a draw that may require a small stool to reach !

From a CCB branded bottle. Pours black with little thin brown head, the flavor is sweet, but lacks any cherry notes. Aftertaste of chocolate and mint.

Draft. A black beer with a rim of dar brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of prunes, chocolate, roasted malt, alcohol, and exotic fruits, leading to a bitter finish. A bit over the top for me.

Bottle shared at The Kernel - London. Massive thanks to Paul for lugging this over from America. This guy is an absolute hero. The beer pours oily black with a creamy, brown head. The aroma is loaded with luscious, lightly tangy cherries and thick chocolate. Big sweet flavor with gooey chocolate, some chocolate syrup, hints of brownies, further cherries, mild alcohol. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly chewy. Finishes with modest warmth, rich chocolate sauce, ripe cherries, chocolate cake. Indulgent and decadent yet still well balanced. Great beer.

Rich chocolate, cocoa, chocolate cake, cherries, coffee, bourbon whiskey. It’s beautifully balanced and smooth. Superb beer.

Bottle, big thanks to Paul Unwin. It pours near black with a small tan head. The nose is soft roast, cocoa, Black Forest gateaux, vanilla, toasted coconut, ripe cherry, wood and bourbon. The taste is smooth, cherry, smooth roast, toast, wood, sticky sweetness, Black Forest gateaux, salted caramel, liquorice, cherry, chocolate, coconut and mild acidity with a dry finish. Full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Rich, smooth, balanced and very drinkable indeed. A very tasty offering from CCB.

Paul. You are a fucking legend. Goddamn this beer is luxurious. Quite sweet but I like it. Velvet smooth milk chocolate on the nose followers by a light spice - good dose of peppers in there. Almost Black Forest cake like with heavy cream notes and black cherries. So much going on. Bourbon is always in check. Absolutely perfect stuff. Sweet vanilla beans and milk chocolate coated cherries, light chilli, smooth cream, custard like, white chocolate covered raisins, red cherry. Light tart behind the overwhelming vanilla and spice. Bourbon is superbly balanced. It has bitterness and sweetness all rolled into an unbelievably big but balanced beer. One of the best beers I’ve ever had. Absolutely perfect
