4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: Inky black with a brown head. Dark legs.
N: Rich cocoa, caramel, oak, bourbon, and cherries. Raisin, molasses, and a touch of soy cause.
T: Brown sugar sweetness, some cherry sourness. Not cloying. Chocolate covered maraschinos for sure.
M: Oily, slick, and hefty. Alcohol is well hidden.
O: A treat. Big and burly, with enough subtlety to stay interesting. The sourness can undo the taste a bit, but that’s my only complaint. A perfected 2009 Abyss.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle sample at RBWG. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have nice milk chocolate, caramel, a decent amount of bourbon without being overpowering to the beer, vanilla and dark fruits favoring cherries. The 15% remained mostly hidden and I am surprised it was this big.

Bottle @ RBWG. Pours a black appearance with little head. Pours a thick ink black appearance. Goopy chocolate, Sugary aroma. Pretty boozy, heavy malty flavor. Lots of chocolate. A bit too much for me.
