An imperial sweet stout brewed with cherries and cacao nibs, which is then aged in bourbon barrels. This beer is brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller our generous friend from Copenhagen, Denmark. What you have here is a modest attempt to emulate the experience of biting into a chocolate-covered cherry candy. We hope you enjoy it but you never know what you’re gonna get.

Tap at the Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Poured a deep mahogany with a small round bubbly tan head. The aroma is rich chocolate, roasted malt, molasses and coffee. The flavour is medium to strong sweet with a rich sweet malt chocolate cake, alcoholic spicy light liqourice palate and a long sweet bitter finish. Full bodied with flat carbonation and and oily mouthfeel. A real treat indeed.

Tap. Pitch black with a small light brown head. Lots of sweet dark chocolate, light cherry, molasses, vanilla, over ripe fruit. Full body, thick sticky texture, soft near flat carbonation, heavy sweet and medium bitter with some cherry acidity. Big and sticky, but no little alcohol prescence and quite pleasant.

Thanks to my boy Weezel. Pour dark and has that awesome boozy chocolate aroma I love. Cherries come out in palate. Gets better as it gets warm.

Deep black our with a hunt of blood red glistening through. Aromas of cherries, cola, vanilla, and slight alcohol. Taste is super thick and luscious with big cherry flavor. This is followed by more cola, raspberries, chocolate and bitter coffee. Unbelievable.

Bottle (750 ml). Shared by kermis, thanks! Deep black and motor-oil thick (of course, it’s a Cigar City stout) with a light ring of foam and little lacing. Aroma is very complex and rich with dark chocolate, black cherries, caramel, bourbon, vanilla and spices. Taste is moderately sweet with black cherries, dark chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, spices, caramel, spices and a gentle "hot" finish from the alcohol (but not 15% abv hot, so it’s well done). Full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Thick and oily mouthfeel. Warming. I’m always sceptical with the high rated stouts from Florida, but this one certainly live up to the hype. Extremely rich and complex while being impressively well balanced. Really enjoyable and I certainly wouldn’t mind drinking it again a few times in the future.

Bottle at tasting, BBW. Black pour with thin brown foam. Aroma is really nice, rich chocolaty aromas, tons of vanilla, bourbon, spice, I don’t get the cherries that much but there are certainly many layers to this one. Taste is really intense, rich chocolaty notes, spicy, boozy but enjoyably so, nice full palate warmth. Really really liked this.

Bottle shared at the 2014 tasting in the Cellar of Moeder Lambic Saint-Gilles. Pours near black with a very short lived brown head. Aroma of roast, rich chocolate, caramel. Flavor is heavy sweet. Thick mouthfeel with alcohol warmth in the finish. The cherries coming out lightly in the palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Fantastic!

75cl bottle, shared by BoBoChamp. Many thanks for all the beers shared today! APPEARANCE: pitch black beer, no foam. NOSE: coffee, alcohol, little bourbon. TASTE: alcohol, very sweet, too sweet, but nice. I think this sample has been open for a little too long, but still nice!
