COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An imperial sweet stout brewed with cherries and cacao nibs, which is then aged in bourbon barrels. This beer is brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller our generous friend from Copenhagen, Denmark. What you have here is a modest attempt to emulate the experience of biting into a chocolate-covered cherry candy. We hope you enjoy it but you never know what you’re gonna get.

This was absolutely delicious. It had a sweet cherry smell that calmed the usually strong smell of barrel. Dark in color with a red tinge towards the edges. It was sweet and heavy and delicious. It was full bodied with a thick consistency. The head was a dark brown color. This beer was extravagant. Had it to celebrate a team victory and it was well worth it!!

75cl, no mention of ABV, new exclusive American collab. brew Anno 2013, with cherries and cacao, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex sweet Stout, roasted/sweet and slightly alcoholic/fruity, yet not too heavy, very balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, top class!, yet very expensive!, WOW!

Bottle shared by Steve. Jet black pour with some mocha colored head. Nose is cherry, chocolate and roasted malt. Almost like a Cherry Coke. Taste follows the nose but has a slightly ashy soy sauce tinge to it. Funny thing is I was telling my buddies that it had that same little off putting hint that most Mikkeller beers have not knowing that this was colab with them. Didn’t realize that until I started typing this review. Nice and thick on the palate. Good stuff.

Bottle shared by Steve. Pours black with a reddish hue and a thin head. Nose is chocolate, coffee, cherry. Taste is sweet, some soy at first, but as it warms, nice bourbon, cherry, chocolate, coffee notes. Great mouthfeel. Reminded me some of BCS Cherry. Awesome.

Bottle sample at RBWG. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have nice milk chocolate, caramel, a decent amount of bourbon without being overpowering to the beer, vanilla and dark fruits favoring cherries. The 15% remained mostly hidden and I am surprised it was this big.

Pours black, almost no head. The aroma holds cocoa, vanilla, sweet cherries, lots of roasted malt. The flavour is medium to heavily sweet, light to medium bitter and light acidic with notes of chocolate, cherries, vanilla, balanced malt and light bourbon. The mouthfeel is sticky and fat with a light carbonation. Dark chocolate finish. Near full bodied.

Bottle generously shared at the RBWG grand tasting. Sweet as all hell. Syrupy yet slightly dry and crisp finish. It’s almost all chocolate malt with a hint of cherry. Flavorful and enjoyable.

Bottle. Thanks! A: Inky black with a brown head. Dark legs. N: Rich cocoa, caramel, oak, bourbon, and cherries. Raisin, molasses, and a touch of soy cause. T: Brown sugar sweetness, some cherry sourness. Not cloying. Chocolate covered maraschinos for sure. M: Oily, slick, and hefty. Alcohol is well hidden. O: A treat. Big and burly, with enough subtlety to stay interesting. The sourness can undo the taste a bit, but that’s my only complaint. A perfected 2009 Abyss.
