COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An imperial sweet stout brewed with cherries and cacao nibs, which is then aged in bourbon barrels. This beer is brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller our generous friend from Copenhagen, Denmark. What you have here is a modest attempt to emulate the experience of biting into a chocolate-covered cherry candy. We hope you enjoy it but you never know what you’re gonna get.

Opaque black pour. No light getting through this oil sludge. Big head, reminiscent of crema, that quickly falls. Little bit of lacing left behind. Alcohol up front. Follow that up with figs, chocolate, molasses, malt, vanilla. Thick mouthfeel with a slight bitterness-from the cherries I would imagine. A melange of chocolate, sour cherries, malt, sugar, coffee. Amazing. Not sure if I get the chocolate covered cherry. But I do get an awesome stout with a nice cherry background and a very pronounced chocolate presence. Excellent.

I wanted to like this... Badly... But I just can’t get into it. Maybe it needs to warm up. I dunno. Pours deep dark and murky with a medium head that dissipates quickly. Flavor is so sweet it’s unbearable. Maybe time in the bottle could help. Seriously, I get super ripe cherries and chocolate.. Not a ton of barrel presence. Also may need to warm up for that to reduce the sharpness. Mouth is almost sugar water... It’s seriously not my thing. I wish it was... Girlfriend says it tastes like a dirty chocolate factory...

750mL bottle, sent from Daniel719 (thanks a lot, Daniel), pours jet black with small bubbly tan head. Nose brings out cherries, bourbon barrels, vanilla and slight cocoa. Flavour brings out chocolate covered cherries, light bourbon, and alcohol warming without the burn. Big, thick, viscous and like a black forest cake. Very overrated, with not much complexity for such a barrel aged 15% beer. Drinkable in tiny amounts, but not too good.

Dark black pour with aromas of chocolate, cherries, bourbon and roast. Flavors are chocolate covered cherries with some bourbon infused in it. Thick on the palate sweet aftertaste the end all be all dessert beer that after you finish you go to bed because it’s liquid dessert in a bottle.

750ml bottle thanks to Tim. Pours a dark brown and oily black with zero head. Big bourbon and cacao aroma. Cherry vanilla taste up front that is amazing. Finishes with a bourbon and toffee taste

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty sweetish chocolate aroma with weak hints of dark fruit. Roasted malty sweetish chocolate flavor with weak woody hints and hints of cherries. Has a sweetish roasted malty chocolate finish.

1000th Beer, a collaboration between two of my favorite breweries Pours pitch black with a dark brown head and nice, sweet chocolate cherry aroma. Taste is delicious, sweet cherry and dark fruits combined with deep chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa and strong bourbon notes leading to a bourbon cherry finish. Amazing brew, great flavor and complexity while the alcohol is well hidden at 15%

In celebration of zgaier’s 1000th rating, at 2:36 AM thanksgiving morning, pours a heavy thick a dark deep reddish black pour with a small head. Nose is like a piece of Godiva cheery chocolate truffle. Taste is pure chocolate cheery with whiskey notes, full of flavor and deliciously so from two great brewers. Finish is sweet chocolate cherry and sweet. Maybe life is like a great imperial stout. Quaff Score 9 / 10 ...an intoxicating delicious stout

Bottle share at Kernel Huge thanks to Paul Unwin for muling this one. Aroma is boozy, bourbon, salted caramel, sweet fudge. Opaque black with tan head. REally viscous, big legs. Flavour is sweet oily chocolate, booze, oak, salty fudge. Flat oily sticky palte. Big bad boy of a beer.
