Brownish pour, off white head. Up front nose of brown sugar, yeast, caramel malt and some alcohol. Flavor is sweet and powerful, a bit too much alcohol in the finish...might mellow out though.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draught @ Brewvival. Hazy deep golden pour with a tight white head. Aroma was big time malt, deep notes of caramel, some spicy noble hops, touch of booze. Flavors were sweet yet incredibly balanced and oh so smooth. This was about as classic as it gets. Hardy’s anyone?

Wife and I had this 2x at the brewery. Each time the only words were "OMG and WOW!" This is so well balanced, creamy and smooth, the flavor and aroma of caramel, dark fruits yet not to sweet. The Best brew we had up to this point. took 2 bottles to go to stash for a special occasion. AWESOME BEER!!!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Draft… This beer rocks!… Dark brown ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. The aroma is a swirl of brown sugar, cotton candy, caramel and date with a hint of molasses. Full-bodied and chewy with tickling carbonation. The mostly sweet (but not at all cloying) flavor mirrors the aroma with many of its features - candied date, caramel, fig and brown sugar with a hint of molasses. Lots of toffee and caramel in the finish; capped off by a speck of balancing bitterness and even a touch of dryness. Well-constructed, complex English-style barleywine!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the source... Pours a deeper mahogony caramel brown hue and topped with a thin light beige head that quickly dissipates... Candied dark fruits with plenty of warmth emitting with supporting notes of caramel and toffee... Flavors are more of the same with big boozy notes throughout. Dark fruit and caramel toffee sweetness wit a touch of sour tang on the backend. Medium bodied without being too full with an equal degree of carbonation. A fair bittoo warm for my liking.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft and bottle from Cigar City. Pours a semi clear mohagany red with an off white head. Boozy, caramel and dried pitted fruit aroma. Flavor is quite sweet bit has a nice bit of bitterness in the finish. The high alcohol is noticeable but pretty smooth considering the strength. Very nice overall.

Small sample poured at Knightly Spirits during Campeador Greaves release. Not a big barley wine guy myself but this seemed very easy to drink with nice notes of roasted barley and malts. ABV seems to be very well hidden here as well.
