Poured a very dark black color with a crazy ass one inch thick dark reddish brown head that dances down the glass (absolutely beautiful). Aroma and taste of roasted malts, some woody characteristics, chocolate, coffee and hops. What an amazing beer, full bodied and nice bitterness. I’m so glad I got a bottle of this. Thanks Brad! Although the flavor is not as strong as I hoped, it still has an excellent smell. The flavor is similar to the aroma, not overpowering at all, but definitely enjoyable. Malts, chocolate, coffee, and a nice dry, hopped, bitter finish. Light tannins in the finish as well (similar to the Capricho Oscuro 2) Extremely smooth and full bodied. Most of the time I’d say that this was a great beer but couldn’t drink it everyday. But with this beer, I really could drink this every single day. ABV is well hidden and the beer is very drinkable with a good flavor. ewestern (198), Ohio, USA

Aroma being a little on the light side is my biggest nit pick. Black beer with a brown head that leaves nice lacing. Fills the nose with plums and roasted coffee beans and malts. Smooth roasted flavor with dark fruit interlaced, rich and mellow. I notice minor differences in the flavor with each sip. Hint of chocolate pokes through. Very smooth beer, full bodied yet easy to drink. Mild bitter coffee burn in the finish. Nearly impossible to pick out the alcohol flavor. This beers warms nicely. I could drown myself in this beer and die happy. Thanks Big M! StFun (534), Indiana, USA

A big hoppy RIS in the tradition of Darkness and Night Stalker (actually I’d love to do a side by side with all 3), but with a personality all its own. Pours a big, bold black with a reddish hue and a tan frothy head. Aroma is outstanding, roasted malt, chocolate, and floral/citrus hops. Flavor is outstanding as well, nice burnt malt, chocolate, some dark candied fruit, licorice, with a nice amount of spice and wood. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. An absolute monster of a RIS. tronraner (1939), Seymour, Tennessee, USA

The aroma is roastiness, raisin, ash, prune, a hint of chocolate, a little bit of spruce, and toast. The flavor is dry pine and chocolate, a bit of cedar, bitter chocolate, cigar tobacco, a slightly nutty finish and a nice hoppy aftertaste. This is some pretty good stuff. Smells like red wine, with a smoky, woddy note, as well. Perfectly rich and thick mouthfeel. Great mix of traditional Imp stout flavors combined with dryish cedary notes. Really, really good. Sampled at lithy’s Septemberfest. ScottyP (328), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA
