Cellar cleaning continues...Smells very sweet, like dark fruits - raisin, prune, plus, plus some rum. Nice, actually. Taste is pretty much what the aroma would indicate, with maybe a touch of woody hops. Overall, this seems to have held up pretty well...

""imperial amber"...toffee, deep, rich malts in the fore, with hops in the background, mostly as a bittering agent, not very present in the flavor or aroma. Bottle is from May, so not quite fresh. Agreed it’s a touch muddled, but overall was pretty good...somewhere between an amber and irish red, just double the strength."

Found this bottle hiding in my cellar - oops. Aroma is very oxidized with some large honey and wet paper character. Doesn’t smell infected though so it has that going for it. Pours a cloudy dark, burnt amber with a moderately thick, dark tan head with decent retention. Flavor is sweet upfront with some light caramel notes. That is quickly swept away by some light, harsh bitterness and large amounts of oxidation. Tons of golden raisin, honey, and lots of wet paper with hints of soy sauce. The more of this you drink the worse it gets. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with moderate carbonation. Moderate astringency with medium alcohol warmth. Overall, this is horrid and I am so happy I held onto it this long. This lived up to its expectations. So oxidized.

750ml bottle. Old by now, as well as infected. Can’t really say anything good about it at this point.

Dark red pour with a light tan head. Aromas of caramel malts, brown sugar, and some subtle roasted coffee. Flavor is very similar and that abv is dangerously invisible. Very tasty!

Dark brown, very opaque. Small off-white head, almost tan. Little bit of lacing left behind. Malt, figs, dark dried fruit, molasses, and vanilla in the nose. Taste is all of the above with a bit of a grainy finish. Not bad at all.

Fyldig lett sødmerik salt lukt med preg av karamellmalt, humle, toffee, salt lakris, buljong, sjokolade, tre, gras, litt umoden banan. Sødmerik lett fyldig og syrlig smak med preg av karamellmalt, humle, mørkt sukker, toffee, sitrus, gras, kakao, tre, salt karamell, alkohol. Middels bitterhet som set litt. God.

Bottled. Love 110k. Has a great amount of alcohol and some sweetness to it. You can taste the cedar and the caramel. The hops is very mild. Malt is the number one factor in this beer. That is where all the sweetness is coming from. I think it is balanced well.

Bottle shared at DLD 2013: Deep murky amber nearly brown with a fading head and not much lace. The aroma has notes of brown sugar, toffee, bitter liquorice, marzipan, fresh oak, grassy and herbal esters with a touch of pine and grapefruit. Faint sourness as it warmed. The taste is quite sweet and fairly boozy with a earthy pine note but not much bitterness. Much like the nose there appears to be some lactic sourness developing which I am sort of liking because it cuts some of lingering sweetness. The mouth feel is uber sticky and aggressively warming, slight metallic and tannic note as well. Methinks I would have enjoyed this more if a fresher sample but age has not mellowed this out at all it seems, so who knows?

Murky amber with a cream head. Nose is sweet, malts, caramel, and dough. Easy palate, chewy malts, bitter, sweet, sticky, bitter finish.
